S.A.V.E. INTERNSHIPS

Interested in working as a S.A.V.E. Intern with Serve the City Paris?

 

Serve The City Paris offers a internship program through our S.A.V.E. Program.    S.A.V.E. Program Internships are offered for students of all ages, who have an interest in working with a NGO (non-profit), and creating social impact for cities as a community of volunteers.   S.A.V.E. Program Interns can participate in over 25 different volunteer events/activities per month, in addition to a series of weekly workshops and special social impact project initiatives we call S.A.V.E. Capstone Projects.   

 

S.A.V.E. Internship Requirements:

  • S.A.V.E. interns must be willing to participate in at least 3 volunteering activities (Action Hours) with Serve The City Paris, per week.
  • S.A.V.E. interns are required to participate a minimum of 4 SAVE workshops during their time with STCP.  (Workshops are offered at least 1x per week, on Tuesday nights).
  • S.A.V.E. interns are required to work on a S.A.V.E. Capstone Project; either their own project, or the intern can collaborate with other volunteers on an existing Capstone Project.
  • S.A.V.E. interns in Paris are required to either live in Paris, or within a 20km radius of the Paris peripherique.
  • S.A.V.E. internships can range between 1 month and up to 6 months.
  • S.A.V.E. Capstone Projects can continue after the designated internship period.

 

S.A.V.E. interns will receive the following:

  • A better understanding of how to volunteer in a large city, the facts behind doing social impact in large cities, how an NGO (non-profit) is organized, and how to launch a humanitarian, environmental or a general social impact project in a city.
  • A Certificate of Benevolence is provided once the internship is completed, to be used for school credit, job interviewing or a personal portfolio.
  • A Letter of Testimonial can be provided upon request, signed by the Serve The City Paris Managing Director.
  • S.A.V.E. interns can receive school credit according to school authorization requirements.  Documents required by your school can be signed by a STCP Director.
  • A mentor or coach is assigned from the Serve The City Paris Leadership Team, to help the intern with their S.A.V.E. Capstone Project.
  • There is the option to present the final Capstone Project in a workshop to other S.A.V.E. participants and Serve The City Paris volunteers.
  • There is the option to promote the final Capstone Project through Serve The City Paris social media channels, (or to fund raise for the project).
  • There is the option of Serve The City providing funds to help launch a Capstone Project, (depending on the final evaluation of the project)

You are invited to send a Motivation Letter about why you wish to become an intern with Serve The City Paris, to this email address: SAVE@servethecity.paris. 

The S.A.V.E. Program Application and the Motivation Letter will be reviewed within 48 hours, and if there is space in the S.A.V.E. internship program, you will receive an email with a request to arrange a time for a short interview (either in person or on a phone video conference), with the Internship Resource Manager.

If the internship application is accepted, S.A.V.E. Interns are required to pay a monthly €10 donation fee, which is standard for all Serve The City Volunteers.  The donation goes to the operations of over 25+ volunteer activities and events per month.

All interns are then required to download our SERVENOW phone app (Apple or Samsung) in order to track the number of ‘Action hours’ of volunteering activities & workshops attended.

If Serve the City Paris does not have a S.A.V.E. internship slate available, it is recommended that interns still interested in working with Serve the City Paris, still consider becoming a Serve The City Paris volunteer, until a future S.A.V.E. internship slate becomes available.
